Orbit Irrigation Products, Inc. Sets Company Record For Patent Applications In 2003

Awarded Patents Highlight Orbit's Commitment to 'Conservation Through Innovation" and

Ease of Use for the Professional and Residential Customer

North Salt Lake, UT, USA- February 3, 2004.

Orbit Irrigation Products Inc. reported that, for the year ending November 30, 2003, the company filed for more patents than at any time in its 20-year history. Engineering Manager Chris Olsen said that Orbit applied for twenty-seven new patents of which seven were awarded to date with others to be approved in the near future. Olsen also noted that Orbit filed for eighteen new trademark names of which five have been awarded.

Orbit President K.C. Ericksen responded to the news with high praise for the engineering department’s innovative use of technology in furthering the cause of water conservation.

Patents applied for and received were in all major areas of the company’s product line. Significant breakthroughs were made in underground watering systems designed to make installation of often-complicated irrigation projects a snap for both the residential and professional customer. Orbit’s hose-end category was also a big winner with products that will revolutionize how customers use the most common watering tools. Olsen commented, “Our team of engineers continues to demonstrate an excellent understanding of this market and what is going to make sense for the customer.”
